What is Convergence?
Convergence is an annual international conference and social gathering of gay men of size and their admirers. This event serves a particular community, also commonly known as Chubs and Chasers; a vibrant sub-culture of the gay community at large.
Convergence has been a part of our community for 36 years and has been held annually in different cities around the United States on the US Holiday of Labor Day Weekend. Since the first Convergence, 36 years ago, the event has grown, at times, rising above 600 attendees representing over 35 different countries. Convergence allows members of our community to enjoy themselves openly, without judgment and affords an opportunity to make new friends and relationships as well as maintain those already established.
In short; Convergence is primarily a social event to meet other people in our community and empower you as an individual. It is packed with social activities, excursions, and parties.
Who is running the event?
Convergence is organized by the Big Gay Men's Organization (BGMO), a non-profit organization with the mission of promoting the empowerment of big gay men and the men that admirer them.
Convergence 37 is being hosted and organized by Conference Committee of Big Gay Mens Organization (BGMO).
When and where does Convergence take place?
Convergence always takes place on the U.S. Holiday of Labor Day Weekend. The 2019 event will be held in San Diego, California (United States).
I am single. Should I go?
Yes! Convergence is a great event if you are single. Whether you are a chub, bear or chaser, there are many other singles who attend our events.
Convergence is a great way to meet someone. If you ever felt out of place in typical social events, because of your size, or because of your attraction to big men this is the event is for you.
I am partnered. Should I go?
Yes! There are always partnered couples at our events. Many actually met at a Convergence and come back to celebrate their anniversary each year. Everyone enjoys all the planned activities, the parties and the opportunities to socialize and meet new friends and reconnect with old ones.
Remember, Convergence is what you make of it. So it can be a great place to meet friends, participate in fun activities and enjoy a good time with other like-minded folks.
